And, if it's a good featured and decent-priced device, Remi can become as successful as the T610 - although we now have infinitely more mobile choices than in 2003, hence the market competition is way tougher.Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 and Xperia X8 are two Android smartphones from Sony Ericsson with capacitive touchscreen and virtual full QWERTY keyboard. But that's logical after all, as in the last years the mobile industry has evolved at an amazing speed.įor the moment, there's nothing official regarding Sony Ericsson Remi, but I suppose the Swedish-Japanese company will probably announce the new candybar in the near future. Just for comparison, the old T610 had a CIF photo camera - meaning that it could only take photos at a 352 x 288 pixel resolution - hence we can say the new phone is light years ahead. The known specs of Remi are: GSM and HSDPA connectivity, a 3.2 Megapixel camera with fixed focus and a UI based on the A2 platform, used by Sony Ericsson for the W890 and lots of other handsets. Remi is only a bit thicker than the W890, hence it's probably somewhere around 11 millimeters. The Unofficial Sony Ericsson Blog has posted two pictures with the new Remi, one of them comparing it with the W890 Walkman phone. Most probably, the new phone will have an official name that starts with T, since it's a modern T610 and, from the available images, we can see that it resembles the latest devices from the T-Series, like the T650 and T250. The T610 is now both obsolete and discontinued, as it dates back in 2003, but Sony Ericsson wants to reiterate its success with the new Remi. The handset is apparently a modern version of the T610, one of Sony Ericsson's most popular handsets of all time. Sony Ericsson prepares a new and thin candybar to conquer the market, a candybar that, for the moment, is codenamed Sony Ericsson Remi. ![]()
