The Musicmaster fingerboard is typically rosewood, with faux pearl dot inlays. The serial number dates this bass to 1973. It was an economy model, essentially a variation on the Mustang Bass (which had a small, split pickup). The Musicmaster Bass is a short-scale (30') model, with a rather thin neck: 1.5' at the nut, 2.125' at the 12th fret, 2.25' at the 19th fret. The 4-bolt neckplate has the serial number and large F logo impressed into it. The pickup designers know what they are doing.
